I believe the song and the story.

I Believe Track 6 from the cd.

Track 6 from the cd. As l said in the beginning this piece of music was the last possible stop for a comercial song or to bridge to something new. The chorus is from the time of my Dads illness and passing. The verses are my prayers. When dad was ill in 1990 he had hospice care and a very special volunteer from Kaiser in Portland Oregon, came to visit Dad. Jim had recently returned from living in Japan. Dads favorite seaport was Kobi Japan. He was a marine engineer. They talked about Japan and the people and the culture. They shared a love for mathematics and gold mining. I was Dads carer, nurse, bandager and fixer. Jim helped dad immensely and as time came Jim came to the house, l opened the door and he was there holding a bible and in priests garments to give dad last Rites. He went up to see Dad who could not speak by this time. When he came down we sat and talked. He told me he had been a falling down total alcoholic while working in Japan. He was on a bender 3 days full. Night time , storm and rain, falling thru the streets of Kobi he, as the song chorus says,     l fell down to my knees in that pouring rain,    gone and forgotten is all of my pain,   l will never be alone again,   l believe it is that day. As he tried to get up he realized there was a statue of Mother Mary and that he could see an entrance to a childrens orphanage. It was for the outcast kids of mixed races. The carers and monks took him in , cleaned him up , made him well. He said l have worked there since as priest , helper , and of course Math teacher. I had returned from Japan too see if l had missed anything or one. A friend from the hospital had asked him if he would visit a quite difficult patient. I looked at the request and as a seamen going to Japan and Kobe as a mutual favorite plus the mathematics l said yes, he told me. Dad lived for 6 months and he visited regularly. I am going back to Japan he said, it was the kindness the openess and obove all the politeness of the Japanese people that he missed. America was too fast, too busy for him. Talking with dad l can imagine the phrase   why the hell would you want to stay here! When you could and should and want to be there. Thanks Dad thanks Jim thanks Japan and math. Thankyou to the people of that orphonadge , the carers and the kids. You were there to save Jim and he was there to help me and dad. I believe it is that day. Amen. Cheers and thanks Sean.

Hi all . New format. Many thanks.

I decided to make new posts the homepage. I want to bring new songs in and some equipement to keep up. Some new guitars Gibson G45 studio. Yamaha Silent guitar steel string. Roland street cube. Boss blues driver, and Electro harmonix mini POG. I thank you guys for your support. When I was about 4 years old growing up in Hopetoun Vic, we went to the show and our oldest brother Monty and his band dressed up as the Beatles and done a show in the tent. Monty was Ringo and as soon as l saw the guitar l was hooked for life. They had to mime to the record coz the powers that be said they were too bloody loud. I think they must have had a massive 20 watts of power. I love my music , l love God and l thank him for giving me music in my soul. I thank Jesus for his example and his life experience. His written wisdom always helps me to understand others. I ask for compassion not sacrifice. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Some what like the people, glass houses and stones. On a final note, for the last week l have been really upset and totally pissed of at a situation that l could not handle. This morning l read the tagline about the site. I realized l had written the answer before the event. So l followed the advice and peace at last. Thanks to my sister Sharon . Cheers Sean. TGED

Food for thought.

We say it is real, they say it is not. By what reasoning do you dismiss this so easily? From the sum of my superior educated knowledge and appreciation of my perfection in reasoning, it cannot be true!  What then you say?    The earth spins at 1000 mph it travels round the sun at 67,000 mph. Our earth and solar system travel at 490,000 mph around the centre of our galaxy. And you say it can not be true? Not for a minute! Gooday sir! Hmm . Somewhere in this multi speed, resonating milkshake we call real, God has given you a spot. He believed in you first. He has faith in you. But l do not believe in God. That’s ok he believes in you. Cheers. It’s real.

Have we forgotten.

Track 2 from the cd Keeping the Faith asks the question, for those who believe and pray, but have found themselves further away from the point they wanted to be, perhaps even to their own surprise.  Have we forgotten?

In music you seldom get to see or feel a song at work but when you do it is a blessing and a priveledge.

Have we forgotten. Track 2 from the cd.

Sunday morning at the Vic  QVM. 7.30 am. Sitting in the spot, so what song to start the day? No body around yet, the tradies catchin their last call, coffee and smoke. They started at 5.30 am to set up, not including driving to the market. Not a soul in site. I start to play and notice a young woman sitting at one of the tables, off to the right. She was totally absorbed in her laptop. So l start the verse then chorus into the solo and upon the return to verse as,  everybody seeking shelter, shelter from their storm, all of their lives , but it is this final battle for which we were born, open your eyes. I noticed the woman close her laptop and sit quietly, she had her back turned to me so l could not see her face. When l finished she picked up her laptop and came over to me and she burst into tears and said that song has changed my life forever. I had felt this huge energy during the song and all that came out was are you going to be ok ?    Yes,      thankyou, yes as she smiled , wiped her tears , and walked away. Thankyou God. If nothing else had happened in my music life that 10 minutes would have sufficed. Amen.

In the beginning.

Hi and welcome from Sean Hale. This is my first post for this site. So the purpose is to promote and support my 2004 cd Keeping the Faith. All downloads are free. No sign up. The start of the music journey has to begin with the song, I Believe. I had not switched to full acoustic and full original music yet. A good mate deanhaitanimusic.com * cool stuff * Dean Haitani and I were at the Whittlesea pub, one of our regulars said Sean play an original. I almost played it but really struggled and fought with myself over it. The wrong place and the wrong time, as it turns out. I believe , no pun intended that the song said no, not now, there is more that is needed. Our mates could see I was short circuiting and yelled Copperhead Road. Big turning point . Took 6 months off to set a direction for the original music. I had sold my amps and electrics, but there was an old Maton acoustic tucked in the cupboard. Also courtesy of deanhaitanimusic.com One day I came across it and as I played, this song, My Lords Prayer came out. First the progression and then into the words ? What words ? Light-bulb moment . When I am writing a song what ever words I use first to sing it in performance, my brain ? yes I have one, will be stuck with it . I realised the song I Believe would not let me sing any words that night. When I started to play the intro to My Lords Prayer once again my brain , yes it’s still there, asked for verse 1 please ? Our Father who art in Heaven. Such a new musical and spiritual journey that you have to ask yourself who is driving this car ? I do believe ! My Lords Prayer as the given song made it very clear on the direction for music and life for me. It has profoundly changed and helped my life and brought comfort to many others as well. The prayer will help all. I pray that the music supports it with love, care and the honour it deserves. Dedicated to Mum Dad Monty and Wayne. Cheers and thanks Sean Hale
